1 Cor.
6:12–18
Paul says
that your body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord. He also says that
you can either be united with Christ or you can be united with a prostitute.
These contrasting choices that he offers caught my attention. It’s like that
passage that says you either serve God or you serve money. You can’t have both.
In the same way, Paul is making it clear here that sexual sin breaks the
relationship that you were meant to have with Christ.
Our bodies
are temples of the Holy Spirit, who was given to us by God. “You are not your
own; You were bought at a price.” This part convicted me because I had
forgotten that my body belongs to God, just as my heart, mind, and soul belong
to God. I have to take good care of my whole body and honor God in that way.
