Romans 12
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of
God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to
God – this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of
this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be
able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect
will.”
I always felt that this passage here pretty much summed up
how we are to live as Christians. And I felt like I needed to come back to it again
to be reminded of God’s desire for me. He wants to have all of me, not just the
parts that I want to give to him. It’s all or nothing, and God has been saying
to me recently to go all in. But I had forgotten these words and reverted back
to my old, meaningless life. My mind has been filling up with lies, deceit, and
fleshly desires. That is why I’ve been encountering this passage a lot lately. It
seems so hard to live as someone who is holy and pleasing to God, but it’s not
supposed to be a performance. I don’t have to earn my worth by doing good. God
believes in me. He created me and designed me to worship Him.
