- Central LessonsWe are invited to the grandest of banquets, but we make excuses (v. 18-20), instead we need to make ourselves like the crippled, blind and lame and poor(v. 21).Characteristics of a discipleDevoted to God over Earthly family (v. 26)Humbles himself (v. 10)Someone who carries their cross and follows Jesus (v. 27)
- Personal ApplicationJesus is telling us through this parable to not miss out on the grand banquet that he has prepared, being a part of the kingdom of God, but it requires complete devotion rather than halfhearted devotion. I want to apply this passage by taking up urgency in sharing Christ's love with my friends. A lot of the time it feels like there could be a better time, but no time is better than now, Jesus has invited my friends to the banquet too and I need to let them know that.
