Passage: Acts 2:42-47
1. Prayer (Ö)
2. Meditation
This
is a beautiful picture of daily life in the early church. There was teaching,
fellowship, and prayer, and people were devoted
to all of these practices. There were wonders and signs performed. All the
believers were incredibly sacrificial and giving. They met every day. They were in each other’s homes breaking bread, with “glad
and sincere hearts, praising God...” People were being saved daily, and it was the Lord who was adding to their number
daily.
*Attitude to
change:
-Genuine
fellowship/sincerity & gladness instead of trivial conversation and wasting
time on meaningless activities
-Let’s
remember that it’s about sharing the gospel with those on the outside. Let’s
not keep it all to ourselves.
*Example to
follow:
-Be devoted
to godly practices
-Meet with brothers
and sisters often
-Give praise
and thanks to God often
3. Application
This week, I
will acknowledge and give glory to God in conversation at least once a day.
4. Memorization
Acts 2:46-47
“Every day
they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their
homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying
the favor of all the people.”
