I'm going to be frank about my experiences with spiritual gifts.  At an early age (middleschool) a sunday school teacher tried to introduce our class to the gift of tongues. Our church wasn't very big on these sorts of things so  I couldn't see it for what God meant for it to be. Many years passed and I haven't been exposed to tongues ever since that incidence in middle school.  I didn't even know what tongues was, where it came from, or if it was real or not.  But about a year ago, during my first sync experience I was flooded with tongues and the spiritual side of Christianity.  Honestly, I was really overwhelmed and scared.  I didn't know what to think of what was happening.  I went to sync trying to refresh myself to Jesus Christ and realign myself to God, but I got a lot more than I expected.  It was like jumping into a shallow pool, but once you jump in you find out it was an ocean.  Overall, I felt uncomfortable and scared in such a powerful presence of God.

Today, I feel a lot more comfortable with spiritual gifts.  I believe PB has done an excellent job slowly exposing us to spiritual gifts. After reading about spiritual gifts I understand now that we are given these gifts to help the church.  The reading showed me why people are given gifts.  But I still feel that reading about these kind of things can only get you so far. I need to practice these gifts or experience them to actually get a real feel of what they mean and how they work.
