1 Cor.
1:1-9
Paul’s letter begins with his title as an apostle, who was called by the will of God. I noticed this because it establishes his delegated authority. Paul then address the church of God in Corinth, “sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people.” I was convicted once again of our calling as a church. I desire to be sanctified and holy. God invites me to a new life, new identity, and new story.
The church of Corinth was “enriched in every way” and did not “lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.” The gifts of the Spirit were in operation, and they were focused on the revelation of Jesus.
