Week 9 / Homework / Alex

I really enjoyed this weeks homework because I felt like it really emphasized what PB spoke about in developing your skills. Seeing both the video about the swordsman and Buck really made me appreciate their work and their perfection of their craft. As I watched Buck throughout the week I was moved by how gentle he was with the horses, and time and again I would keep interpreting everything he was saying as applying spiritually. I think it really just pointed out to me how much I desire a skill right now in my life, something that I can work at and eventually perfect. The video about the swordsman I thought was really cool because he also mentioned passing it down to the next generation to his apprentice, and in that way his craft will always live on yet it will be slightly changed. I also loved how he talked about through so many years of work only now has he completely perfected his craft. In that same way Buck talked about passing down his skills as well to his daughter and he spoke about how she was getting better than him and he wants that. I think overall the homework this week just spoke to my heart in a really emotional way rather than theological or thought based way, and sometimes that can be really nice. I thought it was a nice and peaceful change for this week to be introduced to a story of a life rather than just gaining wisdom, we really got to see the grace of Buck in action.
